THEFT: At 8:09 a.m., a 49-year-old woman from the 500 block of Edison said her handicap placard was taken. Her vehicle was parked at the high school with the doors unlocked.
• 9:17 a.m.: A 33-year-old man from the 1100 block of Fifth said his next-door neighbor is constantly taking poles out of the ground that mark the property line. The neighbor advised that she pulled the posts out to prevent her grandson from being injured. Both parties were advised of their legal recourse.
• 1:37 p.m.: Police received a 911 hang-up call from the 400 block of Wilson. Police responded and found that the children were playing with the phone.
• 2:15 p.m.: A 42-year-old woman from the first block of Crescent said her daughter and a man were having a verbal argument in her front yard. The situation was mediated by police.
• 4:23 p.m.: A citizen called and said a verbal argument was taking place between a male and female on Riley. An officer mediated the situation.
• 9:55 p.m.: A man from the first block of Park said he saw a suspicious person walking in between the garage and house of a vacant home on the corner of Park and Reed. Two officers responded and found no one in the area. The home was secure, but there was a broken window on the garage.
• 10:12 p.m.: An alarm company advised that the high school’s Wellness Center was reporting a main room, rear door invalid code entry. Two officers responded and found a window slightly open. It was left open by neglect.
ASSAULT: At 5:33 p.m., an officer was approached by an 18-year-old male from the 300 block of Poland Avenue, who said he was assaulted at Elm and Fifth. He claimed he was struck in the face by a man who got out of a truck. He did not wish to pursue the matter. The suspect was located and denied striking the victim.
