VEHICULAR VANDALISM: A 55-year-old man from the first block of Wilson said he was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the middle of September and his car was impounded for 15 days. Upon receiving his car, he said it was scratched and covered in sap and dirt from being stored outside. An officer saw a scratch from the front passenger door extending to the rear passenger door. It appeared to be fresh.
ASSAULT: A man said he witnessed his wife being assaulted by his ex-mother-in-law after a verbal argument. None of the parties’ stories seemed to match up and each was advised of their legal recourse.
DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION: While on patrol, two officers saw an Oldsmobile with an excessively loud exhaust going west on State Street and ran the plates, which came back with no records. The car was pulled over and the female driver was found to be under suspension. She was arrested.
THEFT: A 39-year-old woman from the 600 block of Fifth said her beagle puppy was stolen and the leash also was missing. She said this was the second time one of her pets was stolen.
• 2:52 p.m.: An officer stood by while a 55-year-old male gathered his belongings in the first block of Pine.
