THEFT: Two officers went to a convenience store in the 200 block of Midlothian to investigate a theft that just occurred. A man stuffed a 22-ounce can of beer in his jacket and left the store. The incident was partly caught on camera.
DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION: While traveling west on Midlothian, an officer saw a black vehicle going faster than the speed limit and pulled it over west of Seventh. The driver did not have a valid license and was arrested.
• 8:28 a.m.: A 63-year-old man from the 200 block of Iroqouis was found dead on a dirt path near Hamilton Lake. He was walking his dog earlier in the morning, and a neighbor went to investigate when he heard the dog barking. The man’s wife said he had complained of chest pains the day before and his doctor had scheduled a visit early next week.
• 12:34 p.m.: A woman from the first block of West Lewis said she was afraid to go home. Police talked to her husband, who said they were having marital problems. He said she had no reason to fear going home and he was leaving.
• 12:57 p.m.: A realtor said she has a home listed in the first block of McClure and a neighbor was taking property out. The home was found secure on police arrival and the neighbor was not available for contact.
• 6:29 p.m.: The fire department requested police assistance with a possible overdose in the 200 block of Creed.
• 9:31 p.m.: A woman from the 200 block of Oakview requested an officer follow her home because a man she knew was walking on her street. She was escorted home without incident.
