BURGLARY: At 12:20 a.m., a 32-year-old man from the first block of Tremble said his neighbor’s residence was being burglarized and they were out of town. Three officers responded and a middle-aged man was apprehended and admitted to entering the home to see if someone he knew was there. He was arrested.
DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION: At 2:40 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a gray 1997 Mazda for exceeding the speed limit. The driver was issued a summons for not having a valid license and his vehicle was towed.
• 3:44 a.m.: An unoccupied vehicle with West Virginia license plates was spotted in a fast food restaurant parking lot. An officer determined all was in good order.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: At 12:50 p.m., a 27-year-old woman said her vacant home in the first block of Andrews was entered and the gas furnace, a hot water tank and an electric fuse box were missing. The rear basement door was taken off its hinges.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: At 2:17 p.m., a 57-year-old man from the 300 block of Tenney said his sister’s house in the 200 block of Gordon was entered. The front door windows were removed from the house and the back door was open. He was advised a report will be on file.
• 7:48 p.m.: An officer assisted the fire department with a brush fire in the 600 block of Devitt.
• 9:52 p.m.: Two officers responded to assist Coitsville police with a fight at a caterers on Route 616.
• 10:17 p.m.: An officer went to the 500 block of Cynthia for a missing person report. The person returned while police were on the scene.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS/DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION: At 8:57 p.m., an officer saw a black Nissan Maxima fail to stop while turning onto Gladstone from Courtland. The male driver didn’t have a valid license and was removed from the vehicle, at which time police saw a plastic bag of marijuana protruding from his waistband. The man was arrested.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS: At 11:40 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to obey a stop sign before turning onto Murray. The female driver and the passenger were both arrested for possessing narcotic pills.
