STRUTHERS – Maryann Surko, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Surko was born June 4, 1943, in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Anna Di Cicco Marchionda.
She was a 1961 graduate of Struthers High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Surko enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and entertaining. Mrs. Surko also enjoyed volunteering at her grandchildren’s schools.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joseph M. Surko, whom she married June 6, 1965; two daughters, Karen (Tony) Frattaroli of Poland and Diane Surko of Struthers; three sons, Joseph Surko of Poland, Thomas Surko of Youngstown and Daniel Surko of Youngstown; four brothers, Albert (Mary) Lucio of Michigan, Tony (Rose) Lucio of Liberty Township, Carmen (Ann) Marchionda of North Lima and Sam (Sally) Marchionda of Youngstown; and two grandchildren, Mya Snyder and Phillip Snyder III.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held Friday, Feb. 11, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.
