Carroll County Pasture Walk Planned

CARROLLTON — A Pasture Walk is planned for Thursday, Oct. 25, at John McKarn’s Farm located at 7121 Nature Rd, Kensington, OH 44427 at 6:00 pm.

Join us for our final pasture walk of the season!  John McKarns owns and operates this beef cow-calf operation located on the Carroll/Columbiana County Line.  John will give a tour of the farm and explain his rotation schedule and how he manages his operation with limited outside help.  An Agland Co-op representative will discuss alternative feeds.  There will also be a producer panel to discuss different drought management techniques that were used throughout the 2012 drought.

Participants are encouraged to visit with the Eastern Ohio Grazing Council members, SWCD, and NRCS personnel during this social and educational event. Bring your lawn chairs with you, please! Refreshments will be provided. AgLand Co-op, Inc and Circle L Fence LTD graciously agreed to sponsor this event.

Registration is requested by October 22, 2012.
