(By Florence Galida) LOWELLVILLE – The Lowellville Rockets dropped a close game against Western Reserve after leading 14-7 in part of the second quarter.
Reserve responded to tie 14-14 by halftime and went on to outscore the Rockets 28-21.
Lowellville’s Robert Ciccone took a 29-yard pass from quarterback Geno Moore for its first score, and with a Jake Maszczak kick, it was 7-0. Three minutes later, Reserve was on the scoreboard with a 1-yard TD and PAT to tie the score.
Reserve scored in all four quarters for 28 points, while Lowellville was held scoreless in the third quarter, taking a fifth loss in the season. Moore scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter, and Seth Stevens galloped 18 yards in the final quarter, with Maszczak successful with PATs.
