CAMPBELL – The local “River Towns” turned last Friday night into a night of misery for visiting teams as Campbell (5-4) handily beat Newton Falls 48-7, Lowellville (3-6) crushed Sebring 54-7 and Struthers (6-3) knocked off the Niles Red Dragons 36-26.
The Red Devils scored 22 points in the first quarter, followed with a touchdown in the next two quarters, then added two more in the final to defeat Newton Falls (1-8). Campbell is 4-2 in the All-American Conference.
Motrel Hughes took a 20-yard pass from quarterback Brandon Reyes and added another run-in for the extra points to lead 8-0 for Memorial. He followed with a 21-yard pass from Reyes for his second score, while the Devils’ Charles Smith ran in the last yards of the quarter. D.J. Harrison would make the first of four extra points for the night.
