LOWELLVILLE – The 11th Annual Homemade Wine Taste was held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Mt. Carmel Society. Over 300 people attended the event.
Twenty-six wine makers entered 37 homemade red wines and 10 white wines in the competition.
The club’s President Anthony Perry and Vice President Bob Palozzi presented the winners with the following medals.
The Popular Vote winners were as follows:
Red wine: first place Bill Candella (Spring Blend), second place Tony Delisio (Mixed Black), third place Armand Pape (Muscato Mix).
White wine: first place Dino Ciccone (Pink Catawba), second place Frank Speziale ( Baby Doll Special), third place Phil Marriotti (Trebiano).
The Judges Vote winners were as follows:
Red wine: first place Steve Ekoniak (Cranberry Malbec), second place Dan Yemma ( Merlo/Aligante/Muscato), third place John Carbone (Pinot Noir).
White wine: first place; Dino Ciccone (Peach), second place Dan Bowers (Pinot Grigio), third place Jim DeChellis (Peach).
