Village of Lowellville mayor’s report

The 2014 carryover in the General Fund is $185,000, and the sewage plant carryover is $165,000. The village is expecting a $39,000 reimbursement from the Ohio Department of Transportation for the 2012 River Road paving project.

Tax Commissioner Gerald Colaneri reported the income taxes collected in 2013 were $497,000. Just below our projected $500,000.
The mayor has requested Council several times to give substantial raises to the seven full-time employees of the village. As per the mayor, “they are grossly underpaid and it is an embarrassment what we pay these employees. They are the ones that make this village run with the great services they provide to our residents.”
