Wildcats shine in tournament play

STRUTHERS – On Feb. 6, the Struthers boys’ varsity bowlers competed against Niles McKinley in round two of the All-American Conference match played at Holiday Bowl.

The Cats defended their home lanes and defeated the Red Dragons. High game and set were rolled by Jay King 280/255 (505).
Other high games were rolled by Adam Cifra 267, J.D. Heffron 265 and Dan Demyan 227. Johnny Medvec and Andrew Brabant filled in during the Baker games to help secure the win. AAC round two for the girls was postponed due to the weather.

The OHSAA Sectional Tournament was held at Mahoning Valley Lanes Sunday, Feb. 9. Seventeen boys’ teams from Division II schools in Mahoning and Trumbull counties traveled through the snow to compete and earn a spot at district play.
