(By Florence Galida) CAMPBELL – Campbell Memorial fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter on John Knapick Field, and the visiting Liberty Leopards put on a concentrated effort to harass the Devils by scoring a total 30 points in the second and third quarters to lead 44-6 before the fourth quarter began.
The Devils scored only 13 points in the final quarter and their meager 19-point output against Liberty gave them a 3-3 record thus far.
Scoring for Memorial were Charles Smith in the second quarter, quarterback Brandon Reyes in the fourth and Brandon Jackson in the 44-19 battle. Liberty, now 5-1, was led by Sherron Walls, Asim Pleas and John Helms, who scored a total of 5 TDs in the game.
The Devils lost three of four fumbles for Coach Mickey Sikora.
