LOWELLVILLE – The Lowellville Rockets again turned in a sparkling performance on their home field and are now 5-1 after defeating the Wellsville Tigers 27-21 last Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. The Rockets were leading the Tigers 20-0 at halftime on first quarter TD’s by Robert Ciccone and Phil Ginnis, and Nick Lucente’s 21-yard pass from QB Alex Harklerode at the end of the first half.
Jake Maszczak kicked two out of three PAT’s to lift the score to 20-0 at halftime, as the Rockets are now 3- 0 for Coach Jeff D’Altorio in the Tri-County League.
Wellsville made a credible attack in the second half with 14 points from TD’s by Brendon Carr and Jordan Sloan in the third quarter, and a final score by Marcus Moxley off a 13-yard pass from Sloan to up their score to 21. However, the Rockets already had the game in their pockets by 6 points and are now 5-1 for D’Altorio, while knocking Wellsville from their undefeated throne.
