• 3:07 p.m.: A New Middletown woman said a suspicious male was asking questions in the Fifth Street Plaza before throwing a shopping cart into the back of his red truck and driving off.
DRUG ABUSE: At 4:18 a.m., an officer saw a silver SUV fail to come to a complete stop and pulled it over. While the vehicle was coming to a stop, the officer saw the driver moving around the front seat, causing the vehicle to swerve. While the officer was approaching the vehicle, the driver jumped out with his hands up. He was ordered back inside and an additional unit was summoned. The man immediately stated that he did not have a license, and he was arrested. Police found a large plastic bag of marijuana under the passenger seat.
• 9:32 a.m.: An officer went to Youngstown-Poland Road for a low-hanging wire near Elm. The wire was completely down in a parking lot and the electric company was notified.
• 12:25 p.m.: Two officers went to the high school for an alarm drop. The building was secure and a football coach in the area said everything was under control.
• 12:37 p.m.: An officer went to the 100 block of Center for a landlord-tenant verbal dispute and was able to mediate the situation.
BURGLARY: At 1:27 p.m., an officer went to the 3900 block of Fourth and spoke to a 27-year-old woman who said her apartment was broken into and a 42-inch LCD TV was missing. There was a broken basement window and two neighbors said a dark-colored SUV with unusual headlights was in the area and backed into the victim’s driveway.
FAILURE TO APPEAR: At 6:35 p.m., an officer received information from a confidential informant that a known felon was in the area of Youngstown-Poland Road and Everett. Multiple officers responded to the area and were able to find the suspect. As one of the officers was calling in his location, the suspect began to flee on foot. He was cornered and arrested.
