Work began on the 185-foot bridge, located at the end of Bob Cene Way, in April and it was finished last month.

The city of Campbell will be responsible for completing an access road from the bridge to Wilson Avenue.

Though the bridge will primarily function as an additive to industry transportation, Mayor Terry Stocker said it also “will enhance safety force response times” and provide alternative access across the river if a train blocks a crossing elsewhere.
