STRUTHERS – City officials will explain how to properly care for our storm drains in a 26-second television advertisement that will air in the next few months.
Mayor Terry Stocker, along with some council members, will appear on screen to educate the Youngstown area about what not to put down stormwater drains. Stocker said that keeping people from dumping leaves, oil and chemicals down the drains is “difficult to enforce,” but he hopes the short segment will make a difference.
“We felt the best way to reach people was through TV ads,” he said. “If we educate people, they may become compliant.”
The commercial will air during “The Early Show” and “Jeopardy” on WKBN and during “Daybreak,” “Rachel Ray” and “Channel 33 News” on WYTV.
