STRUTHERS – Raymond H. Massie, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Hospice House with his family by his side.
Mr. Massie was born June 7, 1934, in Youngstown, a son of Raymond and Grace Ball Massie and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1954 graduate of Springfield High School and attended Youngstown State University. Mr. Massie worked in Quality Control for LTV Steel for over 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Struthers United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, collecting coins, going to casinos and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Donna Rock, whom he married March 2, 1957; three daughters, Michele (Patrick) Kenney of Rogers, Terri Santiago of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kelly (Nelson) Jorge of Youngstown; one son, Michael (Andrea) Massie of Lakewood; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberli Riccardi; four brothers, Ernest, Glen, Donald and Robert Massie; and two sisters, Loretta Vinkler and Dorothy Rosenberger.
Family and friends were received Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Davidson Becker Funeral Home, where funeral services were held.
