Yellow Creek Theatre to Show ‘The Sound of Music’

POLAND – The season finale at Yellow Creek Theatre in Poland will feature the most popular family film of all time – “The Sound of Music.” The breathtaking landscapes, the dazzling performances and the world’s best-loved songs will enchant young and old alike Friday, Aug. 26.
In this true-life story, Julie Andrews stars as Maria, a spirited young woman who leaves the convent to bring love and music to Austrian widower Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) and his seven children. The 1965 film, featuring music and lyrics by Rodgers and Hammerstein, won five academy awards (including Best Picture), and was nominated for five more (including Best Actress for Julie Andrews).
A live band will warm up the crowd starting at 6:30 p.m., and the film will begin at dark (around 8:30 p.m.) The event is free. Park at the Poland Library.  Concessions will be available. Visit yellowcreektheater.com for information.
