Lowellville Village Council and police Chief Ryan Bonacci honored Officer Dan Lamping during a ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 11. He was presented with an award for Outstanding Community Performance. Lamping received the award after he came to the aid of a woman who fell in a parking lot. Lamping then talked to her, assured her she was OK and took her bill into the business to be paid. Lamping was off duty and in plain clothes when this occurred. Bonacci stated that this type of behavior is what the village police department strives for.
